Celebration of International Museum Day -2019
North Bengal Science Centre, Siliguri celebrated International Museum Day on May 18, 2019 by organizing several activities for the students. On that occasion, a Workshop- Kits for Kids was organized for the students, where students were engaged in making science kits using low cost materials. After the workshop, all the students participated in a Visual Quiz competition. Special Science Show and Science Film Show were also organized on that occasion. Programme was concluded with prize distribution to the successful participants.
Celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity- 2019
In order to create awareness about issues related to Biodiversity and conservation of ecosystem, North Bengal science Centre Siliguri celebrated International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22, 2019. Shri Ritabrata Biswas, Project Co-ordinator, North Bengal Science Centre, in his welcome speech, discussed various aspects of different components of Biodiversity and underlined the significance of celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity. A popular lecture on this year’s theme - Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health was delivered by eminent environmentalist Shri Biplab Ray. In his lecture he focused on biodiversity as the foundation for our food and health and as a key catalyst of transforming food systems and improving human well-being. A Field-study programme to observe different components of Biodiversity was organized for the students. An Open House Quiz on Biological Diversity and a Film Show on Environment were also organized on this occasion. Programme was concluded with prize distribution session to winners. A large number of students from various schools enjoyed the programme.
Vacation Science Camp
North Bengal Science Centre is organizing Vacation Science Camp from 20th May, 2019 to 31st May, 2019 for school students. During the camps, the students are being engaged for performing hands-on science experiments and making science projects. Details of the camps are given below:
