Celebration of Earth Day -2019

Report on Celebration of Earth Day

In order to create awareness about environmental issues such as global warming and conservation of biological diversity, North Bengal Science Centre Siliguri celebrated Earth Day-2019 by organizing several educational activities on April 22, 2019. The day long programme started with a discussion on importance of Earth Day by Shri Ritabrata Biswas, Project Co-ordinator, North Bengal Science Centre. Next programme was a Popular Science Lecture, which was delivered by Shri Biplab Ray, eminent Environmentalist,   on the topic Protect Our Species. The students also participated in a workshop on the topic – Ecology & Biodiversity. Other activities like, Film Show on Climate Change and Open House Visual Quiz were also organized for the students. Students from five different schools participated in the programme. Programme concluded with prize distribution to the winners.

 “In view of rapid outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID 19) and to take preventive measures for achieving ‘social distancing’ to contain the spread of COVID 19, the Aptitude test which was scheduled to be held on 26.03.2020 (Thursday) at Birla Industrial & Technological Museum, 19A Gurusaday Road, Kolkata- 700019 in connection with recruitment of Technician ‘A’ (Electronics) at NBSC, Siliguri has been postponed. The date of Aptitude test to be rescheduled will be intimated by written communication in due course.”
